NOTICE OF JOB VACANCY POSITION DESCRIPTION

DIVISION: Administration

JOB TITLE: Accounts Payable Support Clerk

POSITION STATUS: Regular Full Time

EXEMPT STATUS: Non-Exempt

PAY SCALE GRADE: 9-10-11

REPORTS TO: Accountant

 

BRIEF SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform duties associated with Accounts Payable and General Accounting.
  2. Process Trip Reports from assigned departments to ensure that they are complete, per diem calculations are correct and they are approved and coded by appropriate supervisor(s) and then input any remaining invoices and charges.
  3. Perform data entry of travel invoices and following review by Accounts Payable Specialist, post to accounting system.
  4. Assist in reconciling statements from vendors assigned by Accounts Payable Specialist.
  5. Perform Courier duties when necessary.
  6. Check-in and receive Purchases against Purchase Orders.
  7. Work closely and coordinate with the A/P Travel Technician and perform those duties as necessary, including processing scheduled check runs.
  8. Respond to travel related questions from Kawerak staff and provide accurate interpretation of policies and procedures.
  9. Actively develop professional business relationships with the various travel related vendors to promote business travel discount opportunities.
  10. Receive cross training with the Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialists, the A/P Travel Technician, the Procurement Clerk and perform those duties when assigned.
  11. Other duties as assigned by Accounts Payable Specialist or Accountant.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. AA degree or two years work experience in an accounts payable related field, preferred but not required.
  2. Must possess basic computer knowledge and skills in Internet usage, Word, Excel and Windows.
  3. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and basic math skills.
  4. Must be attentive to detail and perform accurate work under numerous time constraints.
  5. Must be dependable, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  6. Must possess basic office skills.
  7. Must possess ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee information, work well with people and use good judgment in making decisions.
