REPORTS TO: Board of Directors
BRIEF SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as the principal Executive Officer of Kawerak, Inc. and is responsible for managing the day-to day operations of Kawerak, Incorporated;
- Shall oversee the implementation of policies, procedures, directives, by-laws, long range plans and resolutions of the Kawerak Board;
- Works closely with the Board Chairperson in the development of meeting agendas, provides the board with adequate information to help it reach sound decisions and establish policies, provides regular reports to the Kawerak Board on progress toward organizational goals and other issues of concern to the Board;
- While directly responsible to the Board for the business of the corporation, the President delegates much of the responsibility for the day to day functioning of the Accounting, personnel and Planning functions of the Corporation. In-turn provides direct supervision to the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Human Resources Director, General Counsel, IT Manager, Sr. Planner, and Executive Assistant in the implementation of their responsibilities.
- Reviews and approves all hiring, firing and salary decisions for the Corporation in accordance with approved Personnel and Salary Compensation Policies;
- Reviews and approves all corporate policy statements for release to the public, issues statements to the press on corporation positions, promotes a positive image of the corporation through effective public relations; frequently represents the corporation in dealings with the other organizations, individuals and the public;
- Reviews and signs all contracts, grant & contract applications, budget modifications and other binding documents on behalf of the Corporation;
- As an ex-officio member, attends all meetings of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee, frequently attends other meetings of the Board;
- Delegates duties, responsibilities and authority to selected personnel to carry out certain functions during his or her absence;
- Other duties as assigned by the Kawerak Board of Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four year business related degree from an accredited University or College or three to five years experience as a Director of a similar organization.
- Must be willing to travel extensively.
