Beringia Museum of Culture & Science Project TAKING THE MEASURE OF YOUR VILLAGE By unanimous vote the Kawerak Board of Directors agreed Kawerak staff should continue planning a Museum/Cultural Center Project to be constructed in Nome, providing cultural programming support to the Bering Straits villages. This facility would act as the cultural hub of the region, with spokes, like on a wheel, radiating to each village, providing cultural enrichment programs and possible economic development through village based eco-tourism.
